Sunset for FX Movie Channel

“Sunset” :30 sec. Station ID was commissioned for the launching of the FX/M to become a new cable television station established by the 20th Century FOX as a means of propagating it immense library of film classics. Hence the notion of FX/M being conceived by its parent company as the “Projector to the World” seemed to be the idea worth focusing on. It was also determined that this particular pilot ID should be monumental in its style, look and significance. Furthermore, since the films FX/M was to present are acetate classics, a notion of light as a medium which brings film to live seemed relevant and meaningful as well. Through the fusion of these thoughts an idea of a magical “creation” of a new mysterious and potent entity, one that is conceived by the higher power as the “Beacon of Entertainment” to the world at large. These qualities seemed attractive, impactful and inspiring to imagination. In order to make this moment truly magical truly realistic elements of nature were brought forth to perform very unreal actions. The entire creation was designed to look organic, magical, mysterious and moody.
